I realize it has been some time since I last posted on my blog.
So you are all probably wondering where I am…..as I type this I am sitting in the Tegel Airport in Berlin, Germany. I have spent the last four days with Brittany touring Berlin and ensuring that she found the train to her next adventure. I was amazed at the size of the train station in Berlin. Needless to say I got lost after we departed but soon found my way. The subways/buses work similiarly to Italy in that you need to punch the ticket as the occasional inspector shows up on the train or bus. We spent an afternoon at the Berlin zoo and went on a 4 hour walking tour which was fascinating.
Although Berlin has an incredible history it is relatively new and the buildings are spread out and architecture incorporates both modern and neo classical. I would like one day to spend time in the countryside on another visit. The National Art Gallery was magnificent. All in all it was a great getaway…great food…amazingly good wine and the cappuccino past the test. I am looking forward to getting back to Florence. Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.
