When in Florence...please do not run the washing machine and the oven at the same time...it leaves you in the dark. That was my surprise this evening...I had just put a chicken in the oven..so nicely spiced and wonderful smell of garlic and the I thought ... hmmm I think I need to wash my housecoat. So as I turned on my computer the lights went out. I stood there and laughed. So I checked the circuit breakers by the front door and they were all fine. Well after lighting a couple of candles and contemplating the situation I decided to head back to the Fiesolana studio as my friends were working late and they have internet there.
I stopped by my landlords apartment and rang the buzzer a couple of times...he must be out tonight....and then sent him an email. My friends and I laughed as this seems to be a common occurrence here and just ride the tide. That is all you can do. So I left them after sharing that I had a headlight from Mountain Coop in Toronto and I was good to go. I already figured out how I would have a sponge bath in the morning...because after all I had a flight to catch.
As I was turning down my street my landlord called my name and he was behind me...wow internet works fast. He asked me if the Signora..his mom had shown me the main switch outside the apartment...unfortunately we missed that so now I know. I had blown the breaker with the two major appliances on. So now all is well...my chicken is cooking stovetop in wine now and the housecoat is washing...and I have had enough wine that I better go and pack. Off to Canada in the morning but wanted to show you all my second piece complete. Hope you have a great couple of weeks...don't miss me too much...I will be back.
