I just realized the week escaped me and the last time I had posted was Monday.
School has been very busy and everyone is getting ready for the big event in May.
A colleague commented to me yesterday on how dirty he thought this city was.
I hadn't really paid attention to it although I must say I began to notice the garbage
flying around in the street. Then on my way home from the post office I stepped
in the squishy...yup...you guessed it...dog shit. I searched for puddles to dip my
running shoe into...quite often you see puddles on the curb side when people are
rinsing dog doo from in front of their doors. There is no such thing as a front
yard here. So I can suggest that Florentinians stop priding themselves with the notion
they pick up after their dogs. They don't!
Today is overcast and raining so I have opted to skip the morning class.....because I can....
and I am running chores today. We have a lecture this afternoon so it is an easy day and then
it is pizza night with the gang. Looking forward to that as the last get together we had a blast.
Tomorrow I am off to a monastery with my landlord and his language students. I will take my
camera along and hopefully take pics along the way. Here is a pic of one of the pieces that will be
