Buona sera
This morning I met up with Marcello and a few of his students to go to the monastery of Certosa. We met in Piazza Santa Maria Novella and of course I was at the wrong Piazza. I realized at 8:30 that there was no one in site and looked on the bus board to find out what the next stop bus 37 would take....yes of course SMN so I ran after it and it had stopped at a red light and this driver was nice to open the doors...most of them will not. So at the next stop there was Marcello and soon his students arrived. They came from as far as Australia, Brazil, Sweden and Japan. Of course they only spoke Italian and it forced me to listen and respond in Italian. I tried sooooo hard. I had a lot of fun. The young pretty woman from Australia chatted with me on the bus and she is studying photography and living in Paris. The monastery was across the river on a hill is all I can remember from the ride. It was beautiful and serene and the energy there was magical. There was a schedule wedding there today so the monk was hurrying us along but we got to listen briefly to the young Japanese woman playing the organ and warming her voice up for the singing. Amazing. Her voice was perfect and the acoustics in the church was incredible. Enjoy the photos...off to finish a drawing. Ciao mi amici.
