I have decided to take the morning off class today.  The sun is shining and it is going to be a beautiful day here in Florence.  I checked my lotto ticket and unfortunately the machine did not sing....now the pot is 61,700,000 Euros.  I am off to buy another ticket today.  Someone asked me whether I know that the machine is true or maybe I won and they aren't telling me.  I laughed.  I figure this just a form of entertainment and I get to joke with the boys.  It has been a while since I have posted some pics so I'll download some now.

I discovered another fascinating phenomenon here in Firenze....did you know you could buy scented toilet paper?  Go figure.  It seems like there is such a focus on smell here.  They have the largest row of air fresheners and fragrance stuff.  And women here wear the most interesting scented perfumes.  I am being kind.

I guess by now you have all been following the global news....I don't get English television here so have been trying to find decent sites that provide updated information.  Europe took quite a hit with the volcano activity in Iceland.  I read today that the ash is headed for Newfoundland.  I am focussed that it dissipates quickly as I have friends coming next week.  Hope you all have a great day and looking forward to chatting to you soon.  Buona giornata!  Ciao!
