Well life is just moving along. It is Friday already and have almost completed my Bargue. Today I met 3 young people from Louisiana looking for a hotel and they stopped me to ask for directions. At first the young fellow was very eloquent in speaking very very slowly the Italian words he had studied prior to coming here. I smiled and said do you speak English (because in my mind I didn't have a clue of what he was asking). They all looked at me with relief. They asked if I lived here and it was weird saying I do...because I have felt since the time I got here that I have been here forever. Anyhow couldn't help them but saw them again when I was walking home from school and we greeted each other like we were old friends. I love Italy.
I came to an interesting realization today. Since I got off the plane I have not stepped on a soft surface other than the spongy slippers I bought. I have not seen grass yet and everything is concrete or cement. I wasn't sure if I had mentioned this yet or not. Anyhow if I repeat myself...bear with me..it is not alzheimers..I just don't want to miss anything. Smiling now. I learned also that the water that is in our taps that smells funny...the first shower I had I thought the gas was on or something....anyhow I understand this water comes from the arno (river). You should see this river...looks like chocolate milk.
There is so much calcium and minerals that when I went into the cupboard and found the electric kettle I took one look inside and there was this big white clump stuck to the bottom...must be the calcium :).
When I went to clean the tub from my bath last night I noticed white crystals around the drain...odd I thought and then realized that it forms everywhere. If my scalp starts to grow crystals...I might have to come home.
I have been fascinated by some of the doors I have seen. Incredible. Tomorrow I will be off to Ikea and decided to walk there so will take my camera to see if there are any interesting things you might want to see. Florence is full of art and creativity so I am certain I will find something.
Everywhere you turn you see wonderful things.Sometimes it is difficult to describe it and a picture is worth a thousand words. Well my friends till the next time.
Buona giornata. Caio
