Today was a gorgeous day. Cold and windy but the sun was out most of the time. What I discovered as I hung my mattress cover out to dry…was that the kitchen came alive with the sunshine coming through. Yes this is the best place to be. We all need sunshine. My intent to do some homework fell by the wayside when I began to clean again…I can now say my apartment is spotless. Last night something bit me on my side…so that got me revved up to work with the Lysol. No bed bugs but I think that regardless of the weather those little mosquitos are just waiting to hatch.
I killed a spider the other day and maybe the bite was my retribution.
Because it was so sunny I decided to play tourist on my way to wait for the Ikea bus. Yes folks…another trip to Ikea. I want my place to look alive and Ikea has the colours...well actually everywhere you go in Italy it is colourful...however lime green and purple is just not doing it for me. After watching all those home renovation/decorating shows on TV at home .... I have only spent 200 euros and it looks great...Debbie Travis eat your heart out. You have nothing on Anka the Artiste. Some of the things I purchased I may take home with me if I can fit them in my suitcase. I made it to Ikea and back in a record 2 hours…far cry from a full day that transpired last weekend.
I had an interesting observation….the St. Ambrogio market turns into a parking lot on Sundays and further down the street there is another market…mostly clothing and housewares. I made my way through and back and headed to the bus station to catch the Ikea bus for 1:00pm. Just near the Standa supermarket there were two streets that were closed off and there was an antique market. So many unusual things for sale. I saw this most unusual yet creative coffee table and I will post a picture…I loved it. This time I only had two bags so my arms didn’t fall off when I got home. My apartment is starting to look a bit more elegant and everything matches. Thanks Ikea. Well I am debating whether to go to the police station tomorrow or to school.. What day do you think people would tend to not go …Friday maybe….the post office is empty on Fridays as I found out. Maybe I will wait and go later in the week. My drawing is calling me…can’t wait to show it to you guys. Hope you are all well. Miss you and chat soon. Buona giornata!!!
I thought these dolls would make a great still life painting. Isn't this table cute? I love it. Unfortunately it won't fit in my suitcase.
