Come stai?
It is interesting how routine quickly develops when you are stationed in an environment for a significant period of time. Each day as I walk down via Fiesolana I see the little old man coming out of his doorway and gets on his bicycle after adjusting his black Fedora. The street bustles with a flurry of activity and it always amazes me how so many motorbikes are able to travel at vast speeds in all directions…and not hit each other. I have become more
proficient now at dodging traffic. I just have to work on not bumping into people. Some are forgiving while others look at you as if their look would strike you dead…scusi signora!
The street corners are quite tight in the angle…best to either draw or photo what I am talking about. I observed an elderly man with a cane bend over in the middle of the street to pick up a penny. I thought I was the only one daring enough to stop traffic for a penny.
The supermarket Standa is superior to any I have travelled. The take out food is quite unique as they make it there and it is yummy. Today I had a spinach fritatta and it is packaged in a thin aluminum foil pan that is then place in a sturdy foam container it fits in. I have been very diligent in recycle everything…doing my part for Mother Earth. I can’t seem to find where they recycle Styrofoam. Hmmmmm.
I learned more about the dog doo. So remember when I suggested the rain washes it away…well some people take buckets of water and throw it in hopes it will roll onto the street. So if you think you have dodged it on the mini sidewalks..you haven’t because most people pass on the street when there are no vehicles approaching..so guess what…yes…wet doo doo.
I didn’t have a chance to pull out my camera today so I’ll see what I have stored for you. I love being able to listen to Chum…feel like I am right there with you as I post each blog. Well I must get going as school is calling me. Hope you all have created a most wonderful day. Buona giornata!! Saluti.
